About
My name is Syrienna, and I founded Hearts in Bloom for young girls and women who have lost their mothers. When mine passed away in 2024, the grief was immense. Yet, it was in the months that followed and even now, that her absence feels most profound.
It is in the ordinary moments that I miss her most; before an event when I seek beauty advice, when friendships feel complicated, when life asks questions I wish she could answer. In times like these, my loss feels new again.
Even now, those moments still arise and in them, I am reminded that grieving a mother is not confined to one season. It unfolds again and again in the spaces where her love would have been.
Friends are invaluable. Their love and attempts to understand can carry you through the darkest days. However, there is a particular kind of loneliness that lingers: the omnipresent ache of wanting to sit beside someone who doesn’t just empathise, but knows. Sometimes, the deepest comfort comes from being around those who understand without explanation.
Hearts in Bloom exists to create that space. It brings girls together to share their stories, advice, and emotions in a community where grief feels lighter simply because it is shared. No girl should have to navigate womanhood feeling isolated in an experience that has reshaped her world.
What We Offer
Through beauty and fashion workshops, we offer guidance in discovering personal style and building confidence, recreating the small but meaningful moments of advice that many of us miss most.
We also host talks from women who have walked the path of losing their mothers, sharing stories that remind us that while grief changes us, it can also strengthen us. Their honesty offers comfort and their resilience shows that loss can become a quiet source of power.
Beyond this, we invite women from all fields; scientists, writers, entrepreneurs, creatives and leaders, to speak and mentor. Their insight helps guide young women toward the careers and futures they aspire to, offering encouragement, direction and the kind of wisdom often first received at home. Hearts in Bloom is not only about beauty and fashion, but about nurturing confidence, ambition and possibility in every area of life.
At its core, Hearts in Bloom is a promise that even in the absence of the one we miss most, no girl has to bloom alone.
